Day of The Dead

Every year the exercise in creating our Halloween look gets harder. How to do a whole ensemble look, where everyone agrees? Last year's Ghostbusters was hard to beat. So I decided to rely on my fashion expertise and style our family to the hilt Mexican style. I used clothes we already had. Adding white gaffer tape to create Tom's striped suit so it would coordinate with Phin and Mini's dress and suit combo which i had bought last year from H&M. My dress was a vintage black lace Spanish style affair gleaned from the wardrobe of my aunt Jutta, whilst Ottilie's burgundy tulle confection by Angel's Face was a Mini hand-me-down. But it was with the accessories that I really went to town.

Mini already had this pink rose crown in her wardrobe but i added feathers butterflies and birds with a glue gun as well as a black tulle veil from Claire's Accessories

Ottilie's cream flower and tulle crown was from Bonpoint while Phin's top hat came from our local party shop and I then stuck different sized spiders all over it, whilst Tom's was decorated in skulls.
The Grim Reaper
Our little skeleton baby kept on putting her crown on upside down, I guess she preferred it that way!

Lisa from the fantastic kids party company Jem's Fairies did our face painting and Mini and I plumped for pink crystals adorning our eyes.

I bought a couple of hair bands as well as the skull choker from Claire's Accessories and then added some blood dipped roses, a spider, butterfly and a few lady birds to finish off the look.

Our friends never fail to impress either. Here the Preston's have morphed into zombie Simpsons complete with bulging eyeballs. And the Steed's were transported to Hogwarts with Argus Filch, Professor Trelawney, Mad Eye Moodie and a pint sized Voldemort, although to be fair he was mostly mistaken for Malfoy. None the less we were all the toast of the street.

Ottie update

My third little munchkin has turned six months if you can believe it. Nothing beats having a little cuddle in the morning before the day starts.
Mini is really embracing being an older sister. She's been a little forceful at times, however today she gently pushed Ottilie on her first time on the swings.

Like Mini i can't help but dress Ottilie up. She has received so many great clothes as well as all Mini's great hand me downs. Here she is in her heart peplum sweater from The Gap with star print leggings from Kids Case and Mini's old red baby Bloch ballet slippers
Here Ottilie is in another great Bonpoint gift, a beautiful linen dress with front panel embroidery
Mini is sooooo excited to be a big sis. And what could be better than wearing matching outfits. Here Ottilie is wearing Mini's old sweater crochet dress from Stella McCartney for Gap, whilst Mini still fits the top.
Here's Mini in the same dress when she was little but with a bow of course!
Its party time and to celebrate Ottilie attending her first birthday party she wears Minis old Angel's Face tutu but with a Grandma Eve hand knit.
And here is Mini in the same tutu. Just as frothy, just as fun!
And here Ottilie is sitting on her 94 year old great grandma's lap in Germany. We went for the weekend and it was such a treat for me to see the oldest in our family embrace the youngest.

Away with the Fairies

Mini joined bro Phin to help celebrate her cousin Josie's 4th birthday in Fairy Land. They both enjoyed sitting on glittery toadstools watching fairy queens pirouette in their tulle. Mini was of course dressed to blend with the fantastical mural complete with her Angels Face grey Tulle skirt Worn this time with her White collared body from Bonpoint and aqua knit from Marie Chantal and White floral shoes from Stuart Weitzman both lovely gifts from Natalie L.

Ballerina Baby

Back on party dress form today with her cranberry tulle confection from Angel's face worn with a cashmere ribbed poloneck from caramel, Mini wowed Xander's party with her panache and stylish ensemble. Well, ok she made the parents of  a bunch of five year old boys weep with envy, the boys were far more interested in the mad scientist vibe going on (aka twenty somethings in lab coats blowing things up and making potions - what happened to smarty arty and patchy peter?)

Phin was in his element, he got a double lightsaber as his going home gift. Cool or what!

Birthday Ballerina

It's Papow's birthday today! Mini's grandpa is celebrating his 60th and Mini of course needs no excuse to dress up and party. So on that note Mini whisked out her brand new claret tulle tutu complete with large satin bow by Angel's Face and her bordeaux cashmere ribbed poloneck by Caramel for a more casual feel and finished off with her cranberry tights from Zara.

In a flurry

It's Christmas eve and mini has gone all frothy in her favourite tulle confection from her god father Alex. She loves playing with the frills. As an ode to the crazy snow that has fallen from the heavens all over northern Europe Mini is wearing her grey cashmere snowflake sweater from Bamford. A super soft hand me down from her big bro. And although still a tad roomy we've rolled up the sleeves for an 80's vibe. To top the look off Mini is sporting a new pair of shoes courtesy of the wonderful Natalie who spotted them in France and felt they were made for Mini and indeed they are. White leather with a White peony adorning the tip and a lurex band they are the perfect party shoe. What a wonderful first Christmas eve she's had in germany with her family. Now we are heading off into the night to wake up on Christmas morning in Kent and open her stocking...

Flouncy Frills

Mini is channelling our very own style heroine Carrie Bradshaw in this stunning tulle confection from Angel's Face. Flexing the Sex and the City vibe for Natalie's Channuka party, Mini showcased this gorgeous dove grey frilled and flouncy skirt with a giant satin bow. What a great Christmas gift from her godfather Alex and Ari. Worn with her grey cotton cardi and white pie-crust collar body from Bonpoint and snazzy Lurex tights from Gap.
