Golden curls

Who'd a thought the little Eskimo baby with the black hair and slate eyes would morph into this golden curled blue eyed cherub? Her hair is growing in gorgeous ringlets at a pace her brother is yet to achieve and it's a golden corn with a hint of strawberry like her mama that no colourist could achieve.
Today mini was flexing a dolce star print vibe. It's the hot print for winter and mini's silver star leggings and grey jersey drummer boy jacket comes courtesy of the Gap with her pony T-shirt from Dandy Star.
She's been mighty busy today picking raspberries and tomorrow it's time for her first ride on Lulu McPherson. That's if lulu has forgiven her for constantly poking her in the nose.

Chubba Choo

Agh mini is losing some of her chub. I know it may not seem like it in this pic but one roll of her thigh flesh has already dissipated. She's still got her ravenous appetite (watermelon and baked beans are a current face - not eaten together I might add) but she's moving around so much the blub is being worked off. Still she's not exactly wasting away and is delightfully cuddly. Today she wore one of my all time favourite buys that stella McCartney did for Gap. It's in a size 2 but I couldn't help but unveil it early as I adore it so much. The off beat colours, the crochet top and linen bloomer pants attached. It's just too pretty and mini shows it off to perfection.
Phins not looking too shoddy himself with his Dandy Star cowboy t-shirt for Cath Kidston and his stella for Gap roll up denim shorts and Bensimon White tennis shoes topped off with his mum made name necklace for his nod to Ibiza's hippy vibe.

Baby and Me

Mini loves babies. Real babies too but especially the plastic kind. She has a compact vocabulary; mama, papa, mehr (more), hi and bye but her favourite is baby. Pronounced behby with a strong Germanic slant. She adores them and has appropriated this enormous one from big bro Phin who I think may have stolen it from cousin Talulla. None the less it now sports a Swarowski eponymous t-shirt and is proudly his, although on loan to mini. It's bloody heavy and she can barely lift all that plastic but she somehow finds it's bald head a comfort to cuddle against, despite me thrusting more beautifully attired and softer dolls in her direction.
Today she is in her Stella denim cut offs with a lilac horse printed Dandy t-shirt and her Aubergine booties from Pepe for Caramel.

Guitar Hero

Rock on Mini! Our little performer was testing her guitar skills today, strumming and plucking chords to a rocking rendition of baa baa black sheep. Minster is sporting her Dandy tshirt dress again adorned with a big bow with stars and her little gold ballet pumps from Baby Bloch. A perfect showcase for those squidgy thighs. Delicious.

F.A.B

A Fab ice lolly is one of my favourite treats, the fresh raspberry sorbet dipped in milky cream and covered in sprinkles. Thanks to godmummy Karen, Mini is just as delicious in her retro Dandy T-shirt. I love the 70's typography and bold mix of colours. I've paired it with her red skinny jeans from the Gap and her fuchsia cardi From Bonpoint and a lovely big MC bow from Nazli which highlights her pineapple hairstyle perfectly (a style I might add that my own mother loved to give me!)

LOVE

So Mini now has her own Dandy sweatshirt alongside Phins Pale blue Lucky version. Minis is purple with red glitter Love letters and it brings me back to 1982 where I had an orange sweater with Debbie in graduated glitter bubble letters going from pink into silver and then into blue. It was the coolest sweatshirt EVER! And my bros had them in blue and you knew you rocked every time you wore it whether it was to the zoo or Hebrew classes.
Mini rocked hers out today at little gym and she was too cool for school by far.

Go Dandy

Mini is wearing hot new Brit label Dandy Star today. I fell in love with this simple slate t-shirt dress with it's red, fuchsia and gold star bow print when it hung for weeks on end in the window of hip kids boutique Petit Aime. I managed to avoid it's lure for quite some time but caved in eventually and I'm thrilled it finally fits (that said, Tom wondered why Minis t was so big when he got her dressed this morning)
Dandy is a label that does fantastic slogan t's for boys and girls (Phin has a great one which says Save The Whale and a beyond cool retro sweatshirt in sky blue with 70's striped collar and lucky tag line). They're not brash like a Henry Holland or banal and simplistic renditions of trucks and dinosaurs or fairies like Gap or Boden's idea of groovy tshirt designs. Instead they combine off beat colours that somehow just work, coupled with their simple slogan they have an uncanny knack of looking cool.

They even make mugs, posters, cards and a few designs come in larger sizes too. And don't get me started on their nude and pink neon labels or their recycled card and red foil print tags. Can you tell I've got a new fashion crush? Check out their website on www.dandystar.com

Daddy's Boy

It's Papa's birthday tomorrow and as I'm whisking him away for a surprise weekend break we decided to celebrate with the kids this morning. For Phin that means baking and then eating the frosting after a hearty rendition of happy birthday. We spent yesterday baking these hummingbird cupcakes - lavender with lilac frosting and silver sprinkles and red velvet with cream cheese frosting and coloured crunchy baubles. Talk about a sugar high at 9am!
