LOVE

So Mini now has her own Dandy sweatshirt alongside Phins Pale blue Lucky version. Minis is purple with red glitter Love letters and it brings me back to 1982 where I had an orange sweater with Debbie in graduated glitter bubble letters going from pink into silver and then into blue. It was the coolest sweatshirt EVER! And my bros had them in blue and you knew you rocked every time you wore it whether it was to the zoo or Hebrew classes.
Mini rocked hers out today at little gym and she was too cool for school by far.

Stripes Ahoy

There is nothing the Red fashion team likes more than the Breton top. It gets paired with anything from a simple pair of jeans, to tutus and trenches. Its a piece that doesn't date, its casual yet somehow, despite being around for years, is still a modern staple and it comes in a whole range of styles ready to suit just about anyone. Mini has gone left field and opted for a red version with red and gold enamel buttons on the shoulder by The Gap. We've paired it with her white denims for a summery look and coordinated with her matching striped socks from trumpette. I particularly like her pose in the last pic, resting on the hip she has already mastered a nonchalant stance before she can walk!

Citrus Stars

Mini is sporting yet another of last summer's jumpsuits (well I have to max out her spring clothes with all this warm weather! Who knows if it will ever return). This light weight crinkle effect one comes courtesy of Natalie by cool label Zef and is covered in black stars. Very fashion forward of Mini as Dolce e Gabbana's next seasons autumn/winter collection was full to the hilt of star prints. We have taken style tips from their catwalk show and paired it with a citrus Cardigan from Bonton and a pair of ballet inspired socks from Trumpette. Simply sparkling.

Garden Pixies

What a change a day makes. Yesterday's gloom and rain was swept aside with bright blue skies and almost summery temperatures. We don't need much of an excuse to hang out in the garden and get our Cabbages & Roses linen throw and pillows out. Today Mini and Phin had their friends Ava and Zac over and what a stylish set they make. Mini is wearing another one of her classic Bonton smock dresses, a white and red pin spot version and matching red leggings, a white Bonpoint vest and red and white striped socks from Trumpette. Zac meanwhile is in a navy and white checked shirt and blue cords both from Marie-Chantal.

What fun snuggling under the covers and climbing Tea Rose our resident garden elephant. We bought her from the elephant parade where she was on show at Tower Bridge, and now she lives under a Rhododendrum bush in our garden. Phin ditched his H&M denim shorts but kept the rocker vibe going with his Che Guevara t-shirt bought by his grandparents all the way back from Cuba and worn under his blue check shirt from Caramel. While Ava wore her woodland floral shirt from Bonpoint (Mini has the dress version - its our favourite) and a pair of navy Gap leggings topped off with an enormous Marie-Chantal hot pink bow. Oh how Mini can't wait to have enough hair to merit a bow of such magnitude. In fact Ava's bow collection is said to rival that of Mini's. And why not, there's nothing better to top off an outfit than a big juicy bow!
we love you Tea Rose

Footloose

Wednesday's have become little gym days and so Mini needs to keep her fashion full of comfort and ease. Today she will be able to do her forward rolls in style with her Stella striped t-shirt and her Stella for Gap footless tights (how very footloose!). She has covered up with one of Phin's old Bonton cardis and her little Trumpette ballet socks. She's definitely going for a Jennifer Beale slash Fame look today. In fact she loves her class so much she is constantly tilting her head backwards in the hope of achieving a backward somersault.

Here she is limbering up for her class, and now for the splits...

Party Time

Mini and Phin are in the throes of party season and today was Phin's mate Alalstair's 3rd birthday bash. Mini, keen as ever to showcase a new look, was out and about in her new Makie seventies sunflower print sundress and matching bloomers. Bought on our last trip to NYC,  i fell in love with the cool faded colours of iced pink and blue and the retro print. We paired it with her mauve ribbed cardigan from Bonton and ballet slipper socks and gold shoes from Baby Bloch

The theme may have been knights and dragons but phin was flexing his little drummer boy meets Elton John vibe. A look that definitely says medieval rock star. His jacket is by Stella for Gap, t-shirt Marc Jacobs and denim cargo shorts from H&M

Dolly Lover

Mini adores her Sonia Rykiel doll. She stares adoringly into her eyes and grabs her with full gusto to her chest. I love the fact she has red hair like my mum did when i was little. And today, on the anniversary of her death, its a joy to see a bit of her in mini and her zest for life. Today was Mini's first foray into the realm of Little Gym. Stylish but with an eye on comfort, Mini wore her Sonia for H&M striped combo and had a total blast doing somersaults and back flips. And we cant wait for next week's Rock and Roll theme.

Peppermint Pocket Rocket

Mini is looking like a little water nymph today. Decked out in pale aqua and grey she is a vision in her  second hand  duds. Her fine crochet mint cardigan from Marie-Chantal is thanks to Grace and Alice and her striped T comes via Xander and Kai and then onto Phin. Mix it all up with these super cute legging and lace ra-ra skirt combo found in the sale basket at The Gap and this little peppermint pocket rocket is ready to go.

Ring a Ring a Roses

Mini is having lots of fun this week as its half term, so she gets to spend all her time with big bro Phin, generally chewing up all his toys like a little puppy. Today Mini is wearing a gorgeous hand-me-down from Natalie's grown up girls Grace and Alice. We've taken a few of them out of storage and although they are still a tad too big, i couldn't resist. This one is from Ralph Lauren and is a fine knitted cotton dress with tiny crochet roses. Mini is wearing it with her new Trumpette ballerina tights and her ubiquitous pink bow.

Candy Stripes

She's not quite big enough, but I couldn't resist putting Mini in her Sonia Rykiel for H&M stripes. I bought this outfit during last year's London Fashion Week when I was heavily pregnant. I also splurged on a matching sweater dress for me and a knitted Rykiel doll for my daughter to be. It has red hair and reminded me of my mums Amber tresses. A good memory I thought. So today while I'm away at fashion week again Mini is sporting her ultra hip fashion look with glee.

Pretty in Pink

Mini is having a bit of a party weekend. Today she is joining big bro Phin at Bea's 3rd birthday party. All their  friends from Kindergarten will be there and Mini likes nothing better than joining in. And today she's wearing her antique pink satin and tulle dress by The Gap with her beige C de C cardigan and her new party tights by Trumpette especially for the occasion.  They were a gorgeous gift from cool baby and mother boutique Blossom. They are white with pale pink ballet shoes and ribbon wrapping around her leg and are the perfect accessory for any party dress.
