Bit of 'tude

Mini is really getting into the swing of having her photo taken but she's partial to a bit of attitude in the process, which is hilarious. Check out her Les Dawson grimace. Vogue its not!
Today mini is wearing some of her new purchases. She's in her Paris pieces from Bonton including these olive ribbed leggings and chocolate checked blouse worn with her Chanel inspired bow cardigan from H&M's For The Children collection and her hand-me-down brogues from Marie-Chantal.

Overalls

I do love a dungaree. On a child that is. Can't bear grown women or especially pregnant ones for that matter wearing them. But kids sure look cute in overalls. Of course being a seventies child it was osh kosh all the way. But with those blue and White striped numbers well and truly gone there are others who have taken on the mantel. Boden has done a fine pair very similar to the original but these beige and cream striped ones come via Phin from the little White company and are lighter in weight and although less hard wearing they are rather fetching. Especially when worn with her Bonton polka tshirt also in shades of beige, her MC brogues and liberty print neckerchief. Who said beige was boring.

Back to school

There's something quietly satisfying about putting away your summer clothes and getting out all the warm and wintery pieces, especially when they're new. In Minis case that's almost everything after her giant growth spurt this summer.
Today mini is showcasing her new tartan check wool dress from Bonpoint. It's in this seasons muted spice tones and we've popped last year's Tabasco poloneck underneath, a pair of frilly White socks and Phins hand-me-down linen and leather brogues from Marie-Chantal.
Meanwhile it's back to school for Phin and he's taken to the green class like a duck to water. You'd never know he's spent the Last four weeks lounging in ibiza. Today he's sporting his skinny stella jeans, a stripe heart print T from Bonton and his ubiquitous Gap star trainers. The best sale buy at £7 ever! If he could sleep in them he would.

Wistful thinker

It could just be the new teeth coming through but Mini is looking rather wistful today. She's all about hugging and resting her head on my shoulder. I'm not complaining, I get extra cuddle time.
Today mini is sporting yet another one of her summer dresses. An apple green floral print ruffle sundress from The Gap. My niece Talulla is flummoxed as to why Mini always wears dresses. This isn't quite true, as you fashion filers know, Mini has been known to rock her skinny denims and tapered cargos as well as loving a playsuit. However like her mother when summer comes around there is nothing fresher to wear than a simple summer dress.

Baby and Me

Mini loves babies. Real babies too but especially the plastic kind. She has a compact vocabulary; mama, papa, mehr (more), hi and bye but her favourite is baby. Pronounced behby with a strong Germanic slant. She adores them and has appropriated this enormous one from big bro Phin who I think may have stolen it from cousin Talulla. None the less it now sports a Swarowski eponymous t-shirt and is proudly his, although on loan to mini. It's bloody heavy and she can barely lift all that plastic but she somehow finds it's bald head a comfort to cuddle against, despite me thrusting more beautifully attired and softer dolls in her direction.
Today she is in her Stella denim cut offs with a lilac horse printed Dandy t-shirt and her Aubergine booties from Pepe for Caramel.

Guess who's back?

Hello again fashion filers. Mini is back after a few days break. Of course she was as ever on fine fashion form, I however was in Sweden shooting glorious knitwear for Red and unable to document her sartorial choices. Rest assured we have a week of star styles for you.
Today Mini had planned to wear one of her glorious party dresses to little Billy Miller Steeden's christening, however his big bro Sam's outbreak of chickenpox put an end to that and instead she opted for her Gap hand me down denims paired with a floral ruffle collared Bonpoint number with red bow accent to run around the local jungle gym, her Chloe jacket against possible rain showers and a Dr. Karg cracker in hand for an energy boost. All good to go...

Romper Love

I love a romper. It's easy dressing, especially on a hot and sticky day. They are no longer just plain old cotton jersey with poppers along the seams, mini has a whole host from ruffle edged to bedecked with fairy wings. They're a sort of playsuit slash 1950's swimsuit combo, the perfect antidote to tripping up on dress hems, especially when walking is still a novelty. Today's is from Danish designer Christina Rohde and is in the sweetest paisley edged in stone lace. We've added a pink Bonpoint cardi, peach bow and beige Mary-janes. But the main reason I really love a romper is that I get easy squidge access to those infamous thighs.

Funny Face

Mini is no Audrey Hepburn...yet. But she sure knows how to pull a funny face. Expressive indeed. On her way to little gym to flex her muscles and she's looking glorious in her tapered Bonpoint khakis, babydoll trapeze top and canary yellow cardi from Bonton and Phins little Pepe shoes.
And although she is perfecting her walk on a daily basis she still has the stance of someone doing 'the Monster Mash'. Who knows, it could catch on.

Mini's Riding on her Pony

Mini's riding on her pony, on her big fat pony. Well to be precise Lulu McPherson the chocolate Shetland pony is actually Phins but she's gladly been appropriated by Mini. Grandma Eve is obviously thrilled that she's got a horsey girl in the family. Mini is sporting her denim dungarees from the Gap with her Bonpoint chunky waistcoat and floral shirt for an English cowgirl look.

Hey you!

Hey you rock steady crew! Make a break, make a move...Mini's stance is only getting stronger as is her attitude. She holds her own against her brother whether it be stealing food quite brazenly from his plate or resorting to such sisterly subterfuge like pulling hair and poking eyes, Mini always gets her way in the end. Today Mini is showcasing a mix and match approach with a combination of her sage cotton pantaloons from Makie (strangely these were Phins) her elizabethan pleated frilled collar blouse from Caramel which I adore and her much used short sleeved waistcoat from Bonpoint. She is warm, comfy and above all able to manoeuvre magnificently.

Hi 5

Mini has been practicing her first word for a while now. And she now has it down pat with a hand gesture to boot. It's a loud Hi or even sometimes a Hi There (pronounced hi dare) with an accompanying raised arm in a hi 5 stance. It's hilarious. She's so social she does it non stop to anyone passing by while We're walking down the street.
I love that today mini is wearing a dress from when she was two months old(you can even check it out on the back issues of mini's blog) It's from The Gap and has a wonderful provencal style print while the ruffles lend it a Spanish flair. Ole!

Greige

Greige. The combination of grey and beige. Not really a colour you would imagine on toddlers but where the fashion world goes so too does the world of designer baby duds.
Of course there is nothing I like doing more than coordinating mini with my Christian Dior grey wall colour. It is my moment of calm after a day spent with Phin in the primary colour world that is Lego Land. So with that in mind mini was resplendent in a pair of dove grey polkadot pantaloons from Japanese label Makie. A slate grey shirt from Petit Bateau and her beige crochet gilet from Bonpoint. Slate frilled edged socks come courtesy of Bonton and her trusty Mary janes from Pepe. Serenity of colour itself.

Nice n' Navy

After her morning swim with adoring cousins Josie and Gige, Mini had a spot of lunch with her Opi and then onto Dounia's 4th birthday bash full of princesses and knights.
We decided to wear our navy lace and tulle party dress from The Gap. It is so girlie in it's fabric and net underskirt and the finishing touches of the front pleating and grosgrain waistband but the simplicity of the navy takes the saccharine edge off. We added her grey Bonton cardi and matching frilled edged socks and plum suede booties from Caramel and navy bow from Peach Ribbon. Princess perfection. Kate take note!

Pretty Polka

Mini's an independent woman already. She certainly knows her own mind, shrieking with delight when she manages to steal food from my plate and throwing massive fits if she's not part of the social scene. Luckily she still lets me dress her to my heart's content, so today she's a vision in khaki. I've put her new polka t-shirt in stone and olive by Bonton with her tapered khaki pants (getting kind of snug now what with those delicious thighs and chubby ankles) and her moss green sleeveless cardigan both from Bonpoint. We've topped it off with a larger cotton bow from Marie-Chantal and her hand-me-down leather maryjanes (almost the only ones she will keep on) by Pepe.

Clappety Clap

Mini has figured out how to clap her hands. And boy does she love to applaud. She does it in a really light and elegant way and especially likes to do it to music. Today Mini is wearing her woodland sprig dress from Bonpoint paired with a faux fur gilet from Grandma Eve from The Gap and Phin's old leather shoes by Pepe. They are perfect for helping to stop any skidding and leg splits when she pulls herself up and tries to cruise around the house.

Check me out! I can clap. And clap, and clap.

Blue Jean Girl

Mini is flexing a totally on trend look today at her Blueberry music class. Inspired by her mum's denim all-in-one by Isabel Marrant, Mini is sporting a light weight chambray jumpsuit from The Gap. It has a ruffled neckline giving it a 70's Charlie's Angels flair and I'm sure it will become a summer staple.
