Busy Bee

Comfort was key today since mini was heading off to little gym but that can't mean we relinquish our style. Oh no. Not when we're having coffee before hand with Suzanne and Inacio from Clements Ribeiro. So mini wore her cashmere leggings and emerald ribbed poloneck from Caramel, Phins old Vieja grey trainers and her new Makie crackled silver fleece waistcoat that I picked up last year in NYC. It definitely adds just the right amount of sparkle to an otherwise snuggly and relaxed outfit. I'm pleased to say Mini rocked her class and followed it up with a round of tea making in the little gym kitchen, a read through their library section and then a quick dash to the supermarket with mama. All before lunch. Now that's a busy lady.

Row row row your boat

Mini loves a little row row row your boat. It's one of her favourite songs, especially when Annabel vigorously hurls her back and forth with mini sitting astride her stomach. However thanks to Ian and Natalie She got to ride on her very first real boat all the way to the island of formentera. Kitted out in her sunflower print sundress and knickerbockers from Makie, she had the best fun running around the top deck, flying at top speed over the sun mattresses, trying desperately not to fall over - and doing rather well I might add. Maybe it's just her low centre of gravity but Mini definitely has sea-fairing legs. Phin wearing his Splendid boating blues and best bud Ava loved sitting in captain Sam's seat and bossing everyone around.
The day was finished off back at Natalies with fish fingers and lots of bouncing on their trampoline.

Ibiza Rocks

Mini has acclimatised to Ibiza's sunny skies and dips in cool pools instantly. She's in heaven as are the rest of us. Phin is galavanting round the gardens and mini is catching a few rays. Today she is sporting her sunflower print dress and matching bloomers from Japanese American label Makie.

Twilight or True Blood?

True blood anyone? Or do you think she's more of a Twilight fan, Team Jacob or Edward? Neither thank heavens, for although it does look like she's attacked a wilder beast in fact Mini simply got to the blackberries before i could take the snap. We were enjoying the last day of sunshine before the rain descends tomorrow, having a picnic with Phin's pal Merrill and co. Mini didn't hesitate for a second and raided everyone's plate. Today being a little gym day, practicality was key and so Mini wore her light-weight cotton voile polka pants from Makie worn with her rose print Bonpoint shirt, grey short sleeved cardigan and frilled edged socks. She took more than six steps on her own. By next week she'll be off...

Hello kitty

Mini had a special visitor today, her old nanny Bel. Bel looked after her for the first three months of her life and although she has been following her fashion files daily, she hadn't seen her for quite some time. Mini's been doing quite a bit of growing since then. At eleven months, she's a sturdy eleven kilos with thighs that are strong enough for a power squat and an unaided steady stance. Mighty impressive. Today Mini is cherishing Bel's gifts, her very own German nursery book about naughty bears and a Pepto Bismal pink Hello Kitty snack-box (am so jealous). She's comfortably attired for such a sticky hot Sunday, with her sunflower pink print bloomers from Makie, her cotton ruffle top from The Gap from Grandma Eve and a linen crochet waistcoat from Bonpoint.

Bluebell

I love putting mini in blue. Especially cornflower or bluebell, it picks up her ice blue eyes. Today she is wearing one of my favourite tops, a trapeze vest from Bonton in a shirting fabric worn with a pretty rick rack edged body underneath by Bonpoint and a pair of White cotton polka pants by Makie and lace edged socks from John Lewis. Despite getting her fifth and sixth teeth coming through she's still smiling and enjoying the sunshine.

Hey you!

Hey you rock steady crew! Make a break, make a move...Mini's stance is only getting stronger as is her attitude. She holds her own against her brother whether it be stealing food quite brazenly from his plate or resorting to such sisterly subterfuge like pulling hair and poking eyes, Mini always gets her way in the end. Today Mini is showcasing a mix and match approach with a combination of her sage cotton pantaloons from Makie (strangely these were Phins) her elizabethan pleated frilled collar blouse from Caramel which I adore and her much used short sleeved waistcoat from Bonpoint. She is warm, comfy and above all able to manoeuvre magnificently.

Hop hop hop little bunny

It's Easter Sunday and Mini is all geared up for her first Easter egg hunt down on Bathurst Farm. She's decked out in her sunflower and cowslip dress and matching pantaloons from Makie and of course her silk shantung bunny ears from J Crew. Shes already nabbed her Hello Kitty Easter cat from her basket (thanks Mimo) and is enjoying the sugar high had by us all.

Greige

Greige. The combination of grey and beige. Not really a colour you would imagine on toddlers but where the fashion world goes so too does the world of designer baby duds.
Of course there is nothing I like doing more than coordinating mini with my Christian Dior grey wall colour. It is my moment of calm after a day spent with Phin in the primary colour world that is Lego Land. So with that in mind mini was resplendent in a pair of dove grey polkadot pantaloons from Japanese label Makie. A slate grey shirt from Petit Bateau and her beige crochet gilet from Bonpoint. Slate frilled edged socks come courtesy of Bonton and her trusty Mary janes from Pepe. Serenity of colour itself.

Party Time

Mini and Phin are in the throes of party season and today was Phin's mate Alalstair's 3rd birthday bash. Mini, keen as ever to showcase a new look, was out and about in her new Makie seventies sunflower print sundress and matching bloomers. Bought on our last trip to NYC,  i fell in love with the cool faded colours of iced pink and blue and the retro print. We paired it with her mauve ribbed cardigan from Bonton and ballet slipper socks and gold shoes from Baby Bloch

The theme may have been knights and dragons but phin was flexing his little drummer boy meets Elton John vibe. A look that definitely says medieval rock star. His jacket is by Stella for Gap, t-shirt Marc Jacobs and denim cargo shorts from H&M

Dotty Divine

Mini's back in town and cooking up a style storm today. It's a bit of a seasonal mish mash what with it still being cold (grey cashmere sweater from Stella for Gap) mixed with light weight dove grey polka dot pantaloons from Makie because I'm already so over Winter clothes I had to throw something new into the mix (albeit with a warm pair of wooly tights underneath). Top it off with a frilly White blouse from Bonpoint and her little grey bow and Mini looks like a Dior Grey Fondant Fancy. Good enough to eat.

Mini the Muncher

Something rather lovely arrived in the post this morning and of course we had to put it straight on. Mini's maternity nurse Penny who is a creative tour de force whether it be stitching liberty lavender bags, quilting gorgeous clothes hangers, embroidering wallhangings and knitting the most beautiful cardigans and sweaters. This is a new lilac version of a cream one Mini already has and its sublime. The colour is a true lilac and we love the frilled edges and the little buttons are a perfect fit. We've paired it with her mushroom quilted cords from The Gap, grey poloneck from Bonpoint and lavender tights from makie.

Meanwhile Mini thoroughly enjoyed her brioche at inga's today

Snuggle Bunny

It's a little bit dressy, i know but this delectable lilac tutu and t-shirt was another great gift, this time from the thoughtful Julie. Its from The Gap and the long sleeved t-shirt has little rabbits printed on the front and back while the tutu comes with built in satin bloomers, so that even her derriere is stylishly shod.

What's under the rug...

Party Girl

Today is a chance for Mini to showcase one of her new party dresses. Its her friend Anastasia's 2nd birthday party and Mini has chosen to wear her new dove grey velvet and tulle party dress from The Gap. A Christmas gift from Grandma Eve, the dress fits perfectly. A sleeveless shell top in grey velvet mixed with layers of tulle below, such a simple shape but very effective. Mini is wearing it with a pair of pale lavender tights from Makie, her grey fine knit cardigan from Bonpoint and her party shoes from Natalie by Stuart Weitzman topped with a lilac grosgrain bow from ilovegorgeous and accessorised with a big gift for her friend, happy birthday Stasia.

My how you've grown...

Mini was meant to wear this dress from Caramel on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas day, but what with all her amazing gifts, this paisley dream was moved to the prestigious spot of first day of Channukah at the beginning of the month and Boxing day at the end. And boy has she grown in those twenty odd days. Lets just say its fashionably short with 3/4 sleeves now but ever as pretty. With its Liberty print paisley pattern in aubergine and grey, edged in cream lace and a retro pie-crust collar this dress is straight out of Abigail's party. Her feet are beautifully shod in damson suede booties by pepe for Caramel with Slate grey tights from Makie.

Festive Feeds

Mini has been sleeping in style. The lovely Daisy has given her the softest cotton onesies from Makie. A welcome respite from all Phin's blue stripes, dinosaur and car patterned sleepsuits. Pom Pom booties were a gift from the Simpsons for her brother, which are getting great use a second time round. And we are loving her festive bibs from John Lewis, the perfect nod to Christmas.

C'est Chic

Mini's channeling the left bank today. A pair of effortless tapered leg khakis by Bonpoint finished with a chocolate cotton ribbon belt. From Quincy a breton stripe t-shirt by way of her brother Phin, a lightweight knit from Bonpoint. And a grey knit scarf (which cleverly loops through itself to stay firmly in place) from our favourite new york label Makie adds that je ne sais quoi for a look that's nothing short of chic.

so many outfits so little time...

Below is a back catalogue of all mini's outfits she has worn since she was two months old. These little gingham shorts from Caramel are even cuter from the back, with lots of ruffles on the bottom

The first outfit is from Bonton, a lightweight cheescloth top and bloomers, perfect for hot weather. The second is thanks to the lovely Daisy. It winged itself all the way from Makie in NYC. I love the light floral design, so pretty and fresh and the simple lines of the top, the frillyness of the bloomers and then the bonnet tops it all off perfectly!
i love little rompers in the summer and this third outfit this is from a little know American label called B

my first bikini and matching sunhat courtesy of auntie peggy

Gap do the sweetest of dresses and i love this provencal paisley print

thank you kim for my snuggly organic cotton babygro from Gap

Oh Anabelle a pink polka dot Mama's & Papa's ruffle swimsuit. What more could a girl ask for!

Another one from B. I absolutely love cotton pique with rick-rack edging. What a great combo. Its such a strong trapeze shape and i love the frilled bloomers poking out the bottom.

Kissy Kissy do the softest cotton bodies and separates for littlies and this ruffled fishy tank and shorts is another auntie peggy special

Red and white striped swimsuit with pelmet frill on the thigh. Too cute. And the back is criss-cross and ruched and my big bro has a matching pair of shorts too..

And the dress? Well a huge thanks for this one goes to Anabelle, a beautiful linen and white number with orange accents from Mama's & Papa's

This is one of my all time faves (thanks again peggy pops) i am such a fan of indigo blue andthe combination of the white table cloth bib front and the dark blue skirt section adorned with sprigs of cowslip is so elegant. Being ralph lauren it comes with matching bloomers and the cardi has been appropriated from Phin (a hand knitted gift from our maternity nurse Penny)

White broderie anglaise t-shirt dress from Gap and handknitted apple green cardi (stolen from Phin, knitted by grandma eve)

Another Gap number. As you can see i adore broderie anglaise in any guise and the combo of the denim blue stripe and coordinating cardi with sky blue trim is perfect in the most matchy of matchy matchy ways

Another seersucker number. This time in apple green with gorgeous puffed sleeves and broderie anglaise poking beneath and a peter pan collar. The perfect party dress courtesy of Melissa

Oh Shelley! only you with your bubbly and sunny soul could have chosen such a wonderfully vibrant outfit. I love the colour combo, so unusual and the contrast polka leggings with lace trim finish it off perfectly!

When this was e-mailed round, it came back as the fave choice. The dark aubergine voile pants and Liberty print shirt are divine but its the off beat mustard angora cardi that got most coos.

Thanks Suze for my elephant romper and im thrilled you got me a bigger size for when i grow! Comfy and stylish in one

This dress should be in an Enid Blyton novel. The faded florals and the ruched bodice are so retro. And its from M&S to boot. Grandma Eve liked it so much we have another one for next summer!

Love a stripe (can you ever have enough?). This cashmere t-shirt version is from caramel (phin hand-me-down) worn with Gap boy denim jeans with a grey marle turn-up. Head-to-toe Bonpoint what could be better. This outfit was picked up in the sale the day i found out i was having a girl. Pale pink baby cords, black and grey floral shirt with ruffle collar and the cream crochet waistcoat is girlie'ness to perfection without being too saccharine

Here's that hat and a raspberry cashmere hooded cardi from Grandma Eve. Snug as a bug.
