Channuka comes early...

Channuka came early today at our house. And what a celebration was had. I took to deep frying the potatoes latkes and Tom made a tarte tatin (not particularly festive but exceedingly yummy). We had our friends and their children come over to help light the menorah and read about this festival of lights and exchange lots of presents of course. Phin lucked out with his Melissa & Doug mini piano while mini had to fight off her pal woody for her shopping trolley. Everyone left on a supreme sugar high.

Overalls

I do love a dungaree. On a child that is. Can't bear grown women or especially pregnant ones for that matter wearing them. But kids sure look cute in overalls. Of course being a seventies child it was osh kosh all the way. But with those blue and White striped numbers well and truly gone there are others who have taken on the mantel. Boden has done a fine pair very similar to the original but these beige and cream striped ones come via Phin from the little White company and are lighter in weight and although less hard wearing they are rather fetching. Especially when worn with her Bonton polka tshirt also in shades of beige, her MC brogues and liberty print neckerchief. Who said beige was boring.

Driving miss mini

Phin and mini have headed down to Papow and grandmas house for the weekend while we whizz off to a wedding. It's been an exciting stay so far with an excursion to see in the night garden live with iggle Piggle and upsy daisy. And then having some fun driving papas Porsche and hooping the horn as much as possible.
Yesterday mini got back into london style with her tapered khakis from Bonpoint and her Bonton polka T and new grey crochet waistcoat from The Little White Company and her new leopard slippers. Her feet have grown so much over the summer I see new shoes on the horizon.

Princess for the day

Oh great celebrations were had in our house today. How could we miss out on such a momentous fashion moment. Well firstly we dressed Mini in her princess finery. A hand-me-down outfit courtesy of little Alice and Grace comprised of a pale sugared almond pink pleated skirt with grey edging and tulle underskirt from Italian label Il Gufo paired with a pink velvet trimmed wrap Cardigan from little White Company and her White Bonpoint blouse all topped off with mummy's finest pearls from Dorothy Perkins (the tiara was being cleaned I'm afraid).
Then we dissected the event with top fashionista Kim Hersov from Harpers Bazaar, novelist Alex Preston, actor Oliver Chris and Arabella Preston, who gave Kate Middleton her pre-wedding make up lessons (bravo Ari for doing such a great job!)
And finally Phin and I did our very own balcony kiss on our front door step. The perfect end to a fairytale day.

Little Drummer Girl

Mini is doing something that Phin likes to describe as 'Monkey Drumming' after the Cadbury's Dairy Milk Gorilla advert. Its his favourite clip on You Tube and he's thrilled that his little sister is now able to give him a live acoustic version with the spatula and bowl.
Today Mini is sparkling in her Gap star print shirt and tutu legging combo worn with her silver grey lurex waistocoat from Bonton and fleece booties from The Little White Company.
Now if i just pull hard enough...
Smug as a bug. Ha Ha! That damn boot's off at last

Mini's riding on her Pony

Mini's riding on her pony, well a unicorn actually, she clippity clops rather nicely when you press her neck and her horn is all glittery. Mini is already hooked on her belated christmas gift from the thoughtful Julie, thank you! Today Mini is wearing something comfortable for all that cantering around, a grey marle t-shirt and legging combo covered in apples (maybe a little taunting for the horsey?) and polk dots from the Gap. And accessorised with her grey glitter Bonton waistcoat, fleece booties from The Little White Company and the piece de la resistance her very own ruffled rucksack!

This ruffled rucksack winged its way from the big apple courtesy of Kristin and Scout. And Mini leapt with joy when she saw it and felt it rustle! Another gem from J Crew its hot pink and covered in ruffles, its like having a giant cloud puff on your back.

gorgeous or what?!

Winter Warmer

Mini's fashionable attire may spend most of it's time hidden beneath her skisuit this week but that doesn't mean she's not flexing some strong winter looks. Today Mini is sporting brightly coloured polkadot leggings, an apple print top and a snuggly soft cream faux fur gilet (courtesy of grandma Eve) all from The Gap. Her grey furry booties are from the White company and the fuschia bow is a new colour addition to her burgeoning bow collection, another gift from grandma from ilovegorgeous.

Big Enid

This is Big Enid, Mini's wrestling and sleep companion. She did have a little Enid but now she's been upgraded to a big girl's cot bed, little Enid tends to get lost in the vastness. She is so super soft and from Jellycat at The Little White Company. They really do the best soft toys.

Today Mini is wearing her indigo blue cowslip print tablecloth dress from Ralph Lauren with a wing collar body from Bonpoint and a coordinating cardigan from Gap. A vision in crisp ink and white perfect for those chilly blue skies.

Snug as a Bug

Snug as a bug in a rug, or a pale pink eiderdown jacket with fleece lining as in Mini's case. On such a crisp cold morning, this super adorable a-line down jacket from Gap came in handy. It has a pouffed hem-line and comes with matching mittens and a hood with little bear ears.

Underneath all that Mini is a vision in dove grey. The cardigan, trapeze top (it was a dress a few months ago) and the baby cords are all from Bonpoint, thank you Auntie Marika, Renate and big bro Phin, bow from ilovegorgeous and the booties are super soft grey fleece slippers from The Little White Company. Chicer than an Ugg, non?
