Cashmere Cozy

Mini is keeping snug in the snow with her cashmere leggings from Stella for Gap. Today she is wearing them with one of her old faves, an Aubergine Liberty print smocked shirt and mustard angora cardi both from Bonpoint. It's getting to that stage where many of her clothes are almost reaching their wear-by-date, with sleeves becoming bracelet length or trousers becoming peddle pushers. But we are maxing out their use!

Fwd: In The Alps

>
> As you can see Phin and Mini are all kitted out in their ski gear. Phin has hit the slopes for the first time and is doing brilliant parallel turns (well in between his mum's legs!) Here he is with his Papa in tow carrying his skis. Mini meanwhile has been relaxing in her sheepskin bed aboard a sledge and pulled by her doting jenny. She nicked her brothers ski goggles for the ride. Her look of astonishment is down to her world turning orange when she tried them on for the first time!

Winter Warmer

Mini's fashionable attire may spend most of it's time hidden beneath her skisuit this week but that doesn't mean she's not flexing some strong winter looks. Today Mini is sporting brightly coloured polkadot leggings, an apple print top and a snuggly soft cream faux fur gilet (courtesy of grandma Eve) all from The Gap. Her grey furry booties are from the White company and the fuschia bow is a new colour addition to her burgeoning bow collection, another gift from grandma from ilovegorgeous.

She'll be coming round the mountains...

Mini is off to the Alps today. It's her first trip to the snowy peaks of Switzerland and she's all set with her navy and cream reindeer cardigan with matching snowflake pom pom hat and mittens. It was bought from Ralph Lauren when I was pregnant with Phin. It was the only item I dared purchase as I didn't know what we were having and it's held up well considering Phin wore it for his first Christmas too. We have added a few feminine touches with a cream lace edged shirt from The Gap and her grey flannel pants from Bonpoint.

My how you've grown...

Mini was meant to wear this dress from Caramel on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas day, but what with all her amazing gifts, this paisley dream was moved to the prestigious spot of first day of Channukah at the beginning of the month and Boxing day at the end. And boy has she grown in those twenty odd days. Lets just say its fashionably short with 3/4 sleeves now but ever as pretty. With its Liberty print paisley pattern in aubergine and grey, edged in cream lace and a retro pie-crust collar this dress is straight out of Abigail's party. Her feet are beautifully shod in damson suede booties by pepe for Caramel with Slate grey tights from Makie.

Reindeer Cheer

Yeh! Its Christmas day. Mini is full of cheer and kitted out in a highly festive knit. It could be said that i'm mildly taken with reindeer knits (big bro Phin was in a green sweater version today and more variations will be no doubt showcased throughout the holidays). This utterly scrumptious knitted intarsia sweater dress in cream and red is from Ralph Lauren, King of the festive knit and generously comes by way of Suzy, who is fully aware of my obsession. This Nordic inspired design complete with reindeer, snowflakes and alpine trees has a pom-pom waist ribbon which is not only good for chewing on but makes it beyond cute.  Mini is wearing it with cream tights and red velvet bow slippers from The Gap.

In a flurry

It's Christmas eve and mini has gone all frothy in her favourite tulle confection from her god father Alex. She loves playing with the frills. As an ode to the crazy snow that has fallen from the heavens all over northern Europe Mini is wearing her grey cashmere snowflake sweater from Bamford. A super soft hand me down from her big bro. And although still a tad roomy we've rolled up the sleeves for an 80's vibe. To top the look off Mini is sporting a new pair of shoes courtesy of the wonderful Natalie who spotted them in France and felt they were made for Mini and indeed they are. White leather with a White peony adorning the tip and a lurex band they are the perfect party shoe. What a wonderful first Christmas eve she's had in germany with her family. Now we are heading off into the night to wake up on Christmas morning in Kent and open her stocking...

Almost there...

Christmas is almost upon us. Mini is excited and upping the festive ante with her tartan bonton dress and ruby red tights and slippers.

A little lace

We finally arrived in Germany and are enjoying the Christmas Market and carrousel. Mini is resplendent in her new herringbone dress edged in cream lace by Zara, a gorgeous gift from her nanny Jenny. Worn with her Aubergine poloneck from Bonpoint, ribbed tights from Zara and shearling Mary-janes by gap.

All Smiles

Ever the happy bunny, Mini is enjoying some time with her grandparents despite being snowbound and unable to reach Germany. Today she is showcasing a beautiful Liberty print dress courtesy of her godmummy Emma complete with red rick rack edging from Bonton. Stone poloneck from Bonpoint and red ribbed tights from Zara.

Festive Feeds

Mini has been sleeping in style. The lovely Daisy has given her the softest cotton onesies from Makie. A welcome respite from all Phin's blue stripes, dinosaur and car patterned sleepsuits. Pom Pom booties were a gift from the Simpsons for her brother, which are getting great use a second time round. And we are loving her festive bibs from John Lewis, the perfect nod to Christmas.

Starry Night

Snowbound and stuck in london and unable to start our Christmas break Mini is ever cheerful. Wearing a cream soft cotton shirt decorated with blue and silver stars from Gap, a gift from her godmummy Karen and her cashmere leggings from Stella for Gap. She's lighting up our day with her smiles and fluffy angel hairband from Claire's Accessories.

C'est Chic

Mini's channeling the left bank today. A pair of effortless tapered leg khakis by Bonpoint finished with a chocolate cotton ribbon belt. From Quincy a breton stripe t-shirt by way of her brother Phin, a lightweight knit from Bonpoint. And a grey knit scarf (which cleverly loops through itself to stay firmly in place) from our favourite new york label Makie adds that je ne sais quoi for a look that's nothing short of chic.

What's up?

We're on the go! Mini's blog has gone mobile. Gosh i feel like a techno whizz. Mini is rather less impressed but at least it means fashion file fans that you won't be without your fashion fix over the festive season.

Let's Dance

Mini, as you can see has a foot stomping good time when having her picture taken. Jolly as ever, she is wearing a mini polkadot sundress by Bonton with ruby red tights and an indigo cotton cardigan from The Gap. We are wearing a lot of summer clothes these next few days as i've already packed her whole winter wardrobe for our Christmas marathon visiting all our relatives. Lucky for her they still fit, just...

Doodle Surprise

Little Mini is getting hard to photograph lying down now. She kicks enthusiastically, wriggling and straining to see, pulling up her skirt and chewing on cardigans and quite frankly ruining the line of her clothes! It always helps having someone peering over my shoulder to distract her. Today no such distraction was necessary as she was transfixed with a beautifully packaged parcel that arrived from Stella McCartney. Wrapped in graph paper tissue decorated with doodles and a fab gold sticker sealing the contents, mini voraciously tore it open. All will be revealed over Christmas.  In the meantime Mini is wearing an indigo tie-dye smocked dress from Ralph Lauren, white wing collared body from Bonpoint and navy ribbed tights from Zara. White cotton bow from Marie-Chantal.

Little Nook-Nook

Little Mini has fallen in love with her Daisy Deer. A quirky patchwork toy made from a mish-mash of felt and florals complete with a jaunty polka dot neck scarf! She has great character and reminds me of a 1960's toy. Its made by a label called Nook Nook (www.nook-nook.com). We bought her at this fab kid's store in New York's Meatpacking district called Yoya (www.yoya-shop.com). Which doesn't just sell designer kids clothes but also jewellery, furniture, toys and nicknacks. It reminded me of Petit Aime in London. They just seem to have a great eye and they even have a second boutique for early teens. Mini's wearing a grey and black rose print shirt and matching headscarf from Bonpoint. Turquoise cardigan from Caramel and grey cords from Bonpoint.

Yee-Ha!

Yee-ha cowgirl! After spending time down on her grandparent's farm, Mini's style has taken some inspiration. Sporting Phin's Gap dungarees, which are super soft and lined in grey jersey, we added a feminine flair with a Bonpoint blouse and matching hankerchief (which comes in very handy as despite being on solids our little fashion star still loves to throw up over her designer gear). The bird print is in yellow and blue on a pale grey background and is so delicate and unusual. We topped it off with an olive chunky and boxy knit to add another touch of the masculine and then the shearling metallic mary-janes add the final feminine touch. Plus these shoes really stay on and keep her tootsies super toasty.

Style Queen Essentials

This will be Mini's last post for a week, as she and her older brother are off to stay with their grandparents.  And a style queen such as Mini couldn't travel without her essential Baby Emergency Kit by Anya Hindmarch. This aubergine nylon mini case was generously given to her by the oh so stylish Kate S and comes complete with a matching change mat, laundry bag, pouch for lotions, clean clothes and a wet wipe holder. All in all, it has everything you need for when you're on the go. Today she is travelling in her baby cashmere ribbon cardi knitted by her grandmother Eve, a floral ruffle blouse by Bonpoint, denim by Gap and raspberry tights from Zara.

Crochet Queen

I bought this dress from Gap when i found out i was having a girl. It was from Stella McCartney's spring summer range and i loved the 70's vibe. It reminded me of the things my mum used to dress me in - flared jeans with stitching on the pocket, linen jumpsuits and above all crochet. None of it, however were in the fabulous muted tones that Stella adores. They are girlie without being twee which is no mean feat. I've just added a Bonpoint poloneck in dusky rose and a pair of ribbed tights so that Mini can already start getting some use out of it.

Toasty Toes

It was so cold today, we didn't even venture out with Mini at all! Instead we channelled our own interior spring-time with one of our favourite dresses from Bonpoint. We love the antique floral print and delicate tones as well as the forest green ribbon. And our feet were kept nice and toasty with Gap's shearling Mary-Janes in the palest of silver. Not only warm and pretty but they actually stay on. A feat where mini's feet are concerned.

Phin and I have been busy baking Lebkuchen or gingerbread hearts for his teachers. We thought they'd make great bag labels for their gifts. You can buy them at German Christmas markets and they always look so tempting with their colourful icing. We used an excellent ginger snap recipe adapted from Marie-Claire's Donna Hay cookbook. They are super yummy with just the right amount of soft crunch

Flouncy Frills

Mini is channelling our very own style heroine Carrie Bradshaw in this stunning tulle confection from Angel's Face. Flexing the Sex and the City vibe for Natalie's Channuka party, Mini showcased this gorgeous dove grey frilled and flouncy skirt with a giant satin bow. What a great Christmas gift from her godfather Alex and Ari. Worn with her grey cotton cardi and white pie-crust collar body from Bonpoint and snazzy Lurex tights from Gap.

Cinderella Slippers

So these may not exactly be Cinderella's glass slippers but they are most definitely fit for a princess.  Bright cherry red velvet with a giant bow nestling on the toe, they are delicious and come from Gap. Mini has teamed them in a way only a modern princess would. Not with a big flouncy dress but with a simple grey tunic shirt from Petit Bateau (thank you Kate W) an olive chunky knit short sleeve cardigan from Bonpoint and her ubiquitous acid yellow knitted leggings from Stella for Gap.

Paisley Princess

Here is our paisley princess dressed in her finest party dress. Ready to celebrate Channukah with her cousins, she kept things festive with her paisley Liberty print smocked party dress complete with pie crust collar and rick rack detailing from Caramel. The Aubergine, claret and dove grey colouring give this dress an unusual slant. Accessorised with fawn ribbed tights from Zara and Mulberry suede booties by Pepe for Caramel.

Sparkle pins

Mini is adding a little sparkle to our dismal weather with her silver glitter tights from Gap.  Not just for parties, they add a touch of glamour to her rose pink knitted tunic dress from Stella for Gap.

Sailor Stripes

Mini is wearing my favourite item i ever bought Phin. A cream and navy striped sweater. I have a thing about Breton stripes, as do most of the fashion girls at Red. I have stacks of them in every permutation possible. They just go with everything. A trench, a bit of leopard or a bit of mustard as in Mini's case. Her one is from Caramel and is short sleeved and in a lovely light-weight cashmere. Oh i wish i had now bought larger sizes. She is wearing it with a mustard mohair cardigan from Bonpoint and dark denims from Gap.

Winter Wonderland

Hurrah! Its snowing. There's no better excuse to wheel out a cozy all-in-one, 'extra chaud' (as its quoted on the label) snug fest that is Mini's new ski suit from Gap. Complete with attached matching mittens, booties and a polar fleece lined hood with little bear ears (it seems to be their go-to animal). Of course I couldn't help myself and so plumped for their festive snowflake slash intarsia heart hat and mitten combo in a festive red, white and blue. Who needs more than that to herald the onset of December

Little Elf

Yes, yes, its not December yet but we're getting into the spirit with Mini's Christmas sweater look. I'm afraid i'm a sucker for seasonal sweaters and chunky knits, so you'll see a fair few in the coming months. Today Mini is looking mightily festive in a stone and red cardigan with matching tassel hat, cherry red cords and white frilled shirt from Bonpoint with red ballet shoes from Baby Bloch
