Fashion Week Fix

I've had a few requests to hijack mini's fashion file and show off some of my own style and what better reason to do so than during London Fashion Week. Here Net a Porter's Kim Hersov and myself are snapped in our fashion week attire

Here's my leopard coat which appeared on Elle.com and this weeks Look Magazine

Day 1 with Mini in her JCrew. I've paired my Clements Ribeiro lace skirt, Carven sweater with my JCrew necklaces, vintage Chloe boots and Isabel Marrant quilted coat.

Day 2 and its beyond freezing, so only a true fashion fiend goes open toed in these gorgeous neon floral stilettos by Tabitha Simmons. My way to combat the chill is to wear my knitted fur coat from Joseph, rolled up denims from Current Elliot and my new Stella McCartney neon patchwork sweater and mock croc oversized clutch.

Day 3 and I've gone full on leopard. Matchy matchy is normally not my thing, but somehow it just felt right. So on went the Stella neoprene and linen cocoon coat and matching wedges my Celine olive bag and Asos sunglasses. I love the oversize shape which feels contemporary and its a simple silhouette yet is high on glamour.

Day 4 and I've gone all retro Prada style but this time in my new Boden mustard print dress. I love its off beat colour. its freezing yet again so ive added a fur gilet and then belted it with an old Burberry belt and added some ribbed tights to my old Miu Miu wooden platforms and a shagreen and watersnake bag from Anya Hindmarch.

Climbing turrets

On one of the coldest days so far we decided to explore a local castle called Bodiam. Phin was ecstatic. Mini not so much. The snowdrops were out and so was the snow and off we trekked across moats and up turrets.
Phin hurled himself around the castle and across the ramparts with utter glee, mini bailed before the main gate and went home early with grandma and Papow.
Pity, she missed the fantastic insight the Forester gave us on which arrow head to use for hunting deer (an arrowhead as you would imagine it) as apposed to birds (small point with almost a ping pong size ball behind it to stun it out if the air and not ruin the flesh). Or long and thin like a needle for piercing through chain mail and armour to a small typical arrowhead with two holes in it for arson attacks (wrap a piece of fabric through them and dip in fat then fire and launch at a thatched roof to burn it down). Fascinating stuff.

Pop of pink

I'm loving that last summer's neon trend hasn't abated. It means my JCrew neon sweatshirts I picked up for myself last Easter will still be worth wearing.
And it's trickled down to kids wear too. The Gap are definitely picking up on this great trend in a big way and I went and splurged on not just this great pink pair of denims but also a citrus yellow pair too for mini. We paired them with her Bonpoint cherry T and grey ribbed cardi from Auntie Peggy and her H&M neon socks and JCrew orange neon pearl ribbon necklace.
The perfect way to add a pop of colour no matter how grey the day.

Fashion Queen

Day 2 of london fashion week and mini came along to Somerset House for Todd Lynn's show.
The Bloggers went crazy for her nonchalant attitude and leopard JCrew coat and they loved her even more on finding out that she too was a fellow blogger. Respect.
Here mini and I are Frow (that's front row to the uninitiated). Mini pointed out each outfit she approved of (mainly the lace ones and anything with a peplum) and then she applauded with gusto at the finale. What a pro.

Sweet valentine

My little ones spoilt me with beautifully hand crafted heart cards yesterday and Mini had even baked me a biscuit with plenty of icing sugar and sprinkles while my own valentine bought me some tasty eponymous wine. DB Reserve - how cool is that.
Later in the afternoon we went to Papoo's house to celebrate his birthday, mini resplendent in her red silk taffeta Bonpoint party dress.

Baby & Me

Phin, Mini and I were invited to feature in a Mother's day feature for the magazine Baby & Me.  Phin and Mini were superstars on the day, they joined in the shoot with gusto and i cant wait to share the final pics with you when they come out. Here are some behind the scene photos from the shoot.

Pocahontas

Mini has become our resident Pocahontas since stealing Phins suede fringe Minnetonka boots. They're from J Crew and came by way of cousins Gige & Josie. Phin loved wearing them (who says they're just for girls) and even though they're still a smidge too big Mini has appropriated them with gusto. Today she's teamed them with her chocolate polka velvet shorts from Marie-Chantal and floral sprig Bonpoint blouse also by way of big cousins G&J. we've topped it off with a dash of paprika coloured Bonton cardigan and bow for added spice.

Mellow yellow

These two were double trouble in their matching mustard cardigans today. Minis from Caramel and paired with a checked peplum shirt and tobacco coloured cords and Phins from H&M worn with a JCrew chambray shirt and Bonpoint skinnies. A great brunch and a the perfect lazy day. Mellow yellow.
